As strange as it may sound, I have taken an interest in the English language, despite the fact that my native tongue is already English. I just find it intriguing that we have so many homophones, words with the same meaning, and the fact that our language doesn't have gender. We don't say "tha carrot" instead of "the carrot." I also find it interesting, and a bit annoying, that our country doesn't know squat about the rest of the world or their languages, whereas the rest of the world knows everything that goes on in our country. And though it would seem that they go hand in hand, politics bore me.
